Hampton College - About Us

Hampton College was established in 1985 when the founders realised that there was a major shortage of trained staff in commerce and industry. Many employees who had the theoretical background, lacked the practical skills-knowledge required to perform tasks well. Hampton was established with the intention of providing education and training which gave a balance between theory and practical knowledge.

The methodology adopted for this kind of training is one of theory, activity and application, where students are encouraged to become decision makers and critical thinkers and the emphasis is on good communication and numeracy skills. Hampton offers training from the foundation levels of literacy and numeracy through to University degrees.

Hampton focuses on the following:

University Education including the MBA

University education through Senior University (USA/ Canada), provide Associate, Bachelors and Masters degrees in the faculty of Business Administration and the faculty of Arts (Travel and Tourism, Education).
Tertiary education (CIMA, BMA, LCCI, IAC etc.)

Hampton has the largest stock of CIMA textbooks and BPP course material in Southern Africa. Textbooks for other institute courses are on hand or can be obtained - fax your order for a quote.
The BMA Accounting Technician course is very popular.
Distance learning/ correspondence

Distance Learning/ Correspondence courses are available, including many business courses such as Credit Control, Stores Control, Bookkeeping and many others, and Personal Development courses such as Assertiveness, Business English, Supervision, and many others. Capacity building and Project management are two which have been very popular.
Adult basic education (ABET) Literacy, numeracy, life skills

Adult Basic Education and Training (ABET) encompassing literacy, numeracy and life skills using the Molteno breakthrough method has been very successful. Hampton can teach your learners, teach your trainers or just monitor your project to ensure success. Thousands of people have been trained through Hampton, throughout the country. Courses are available in 11 languages.
